Welcome to Lantern Society. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to all takeaway orders placed through our website, online ordering platform, or over the phone. By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

## 2. Placing an Order
2.1 Orders can be placed through our website, online ordering system, or by phone during our trading hours.
2.2 To place an order, you must be at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or guardian.
2.3 You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when placing an order, including your name, contact number, and (where applicable) email address.
2.4 All orders are subject to availability and acceptance by us. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including (but not limited to) situations involving:
- Items being unavailable or sold out
- Errors in pricing or product description
- Suspected fraudulent activity
- Unreasonable customer behaviour

## 3. Pricing & Payment
3.1 All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST where applicable.
3.2 Menu prices may change without notice. The price charged will be the price displayed at the time your order is placed.

## 4. Order Confirmation
4.1 Once your order has been received and payment processed, you will receive an order confirmation by email or SMS.
4.2 If you do not receive a confirmation within 10 minutes of placing an order, please contact us directly to check the status of your order.
4.3 An order confirmation does not guarantee that we are able to fulfil your order — see clause 2.4.

## 5. Collection & Preparation Time
5.1 Estimated preparation times are displayed at checkout and are indicative only. Actual times may vary depending on demand.
5.2 Orders must be collected from our store at **[insert address]** at the scheduled pick-up time.
5.3 Please bring your order confirmation (printed or on your phone) when collecting.
5.4 Orders not collected within **30 minutes** of the scheduled pick-up time may be discarded at our discretion, and no refund will be provided.

## 6. Cancellations, Changes & Refunds
6.1 Once an order is confirmed and payment is taken, we begin preparing your food immediately. As a result, **orders cannot be cancelled or changed once submitted**.
6.2 If you need to change or cancel an order, please call us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to help, but cannot guarantee any changes can be made.
6.3 Refunds will only be offered in the following circumstances:
- We are unable to fulfil your order
- Incorrect items are provided
- Food quality issues are reported within **2 hours** of collection, with the original order (where possible)
6.4 Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

7.1 Our kitchen handles ingredients including (but not limited to) **peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, fish, egg, dairy, soy, gluten, and sesame**. We cannot guarantee that any dish is free from trace allergens due to shared cooking environments.
7.2 If you have a food allergy, intolerance, or specific dietary requirement, please inform us **before placing your order** by calling or adding a note to your order. We will do our best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free product.
7.3 It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the food they order is suitable for their dietary needs.

## 8. Food Safety
8.1 We prepare our food to high hygiene and safety standards. However, once food has been collected, it is the customer's responsibility to store, reheat, and consume it safely.
8.2 We recommend consuming takeaway food within **2 hours** of collection for best quality and safety.

## 9. Promotions, Vouchers & Discounts
9.1 Promo codes, vouchers, and discounts are subject to specific terms, which will be stated at the time of offer.
9.2 Only one promo code can be used per order unless otherwise stated.
9.3 Promo codes cannot be exchanged for cash and are not valid on gift vouchers.
9.4 We reserve the right to cancel or amend any promotion at any time.
